American Orthodontics is smiling as they received the 2002 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award in the 100 to 300-employee category. During the last four years American Orthodontics has increased the company’s productivity by 24% through automation and has become a low-cost leader for orthodontics supplies. Founded by Dan Merkel in 1968, he credits the firm’s 240-person workforce for the company’s success.
